A lively beginner workshop introducing freestyle rap, improvisation and the creative power of rhythm and language
Freestyle Rap is the art of expressing yourself over music or a beat in a completely spontaneous way. Sound fun? It is!
Come along to this fun and friendly freestyle 101 workshop with writer and TEDx performer Nico aka Flash Poetry, where you will learn how to harness the magic of rhyme, rhythm, language, and live improvisation.
Spots are limited and participants are also encouraged to join our Verses and Vino: Poetry Night event on Friday 26 June, to see Nico and other special guests performing live, and for a chance to perform your own work!
Nico aka Flash Poetry is a local freestyle sensation, TEDx performer and the author of the poetry collection 'The Silent World That Won't Stop Talking’. Harnessing the power of poetry, storytelling and freestyle rap, he takes audiences on spontaneous, immersive lyrical adventures informed by crowd suggestions and whatever is most alive in the room in the moment.
Through a unique blend of rhythm, philosophy and wordplay, the full-time writer turned ‘Philosorapper’ showcases the mind-bending magic of live improvisation and the flow state.
